Sec 2 Changsha Trip 2026
Trips for Internationalisation Experience: Changsha
What makes an experience memorable? For us, the answer became evident after our recent school trip to Changsha, China. From the very moment we stepped off the plane and into the biting cold of the evening, the city thrummed with dormant energy—from the brilliant, multicoloured lights illuminating every corner of the metropolis to the resonant hum of cars and people moving through the streets. Changsha was a city unlike anything I had seen before, with its unique infrastructure, blending the sleek concrete and glass of modern architecture with the vivid hues of its rich, vibrant culture.
During our time abroad, we had the immense pleasure of visiting numerous cultural and historical sites, like Mao Zedong’s childhood abode and the grand Tianxin Pavilion.
The key highlights were, notably, the two schools we visited: Yali Peicui School and Yali Shuangyu (Bilingual) School. There, we attended lessons on astronomy, Mandarin literature, and traditional dance. When the time to say goodbye came, we were touched to see some students shedding tears as they waved farewell.
During our brief sojourn, we gained a deeper sense of appreciation for the diverse heritage China had to offer, as well as the things we often took for granted back home (Like the toilets. Especially the toilets).
Overall, this trip to Changsha was more than a mere school excursion—it was an opportunity to learn more about the world beyond our Little Red Dot, meet new people and forge stronger bonds with one another.
